Cathedral mass
Dear friends,
The Bishop has decided to offer a simple Mass at Bishop’s House to live stream at 11 am this Sunday, the Cathedral Mass will be at 10 am celebrated by the Cathedral clergy. The Bishop is also offering at 3 pm on Sunday, a period of prayer before the image of the Divine Mercy and in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament at Bishops House.
I regret that I am a technological dinosaur, but for those of you more adept (or with children or grandchildren to set such matters up for you – I have none) perhaps this information will be useful.
Meanwhile, please know that I am thinking of you all and looking forward to meeting you again in person. I pray for you, and ask that you pray for me and for all members of our two communities. I am giving some thought as to how to celebrate appropriately when we can meet again on a Saturday evening or Sunday, and if you have any ideas please email them to me.
Please also do pray for Mary Dunne and Maureen Conlon (relatives of parishioners) who are seriously ill; and for Betty Harte and Tony Bate (both parishioners of Lutterworth) who died in the past few days. Please also pray for Abbot Moakler former abbot of Mount St. Bernard’s Abbey, Canon John Berry, Fr. Joe McGovern, Fr. Stephan Foster, and Sister Mary Gonzalvo OP (who worked in Leicester) who have all died in the past few weeks.
This week I will celebrate Mass at approximately 9am each day for the following intentions:
Sunday Deceased members of the Dale family; Monday Betty Harte RIP; Tuesday Tony Bate RIP; Wednesday Fr Joe McGovern RIP; Thursday (Feast of St. George) Fr Stephan Foster RIP; Friday Sister Mary Gonzalvo RIP; Saturday the intentions of Frank Smith; and next Sunday Gerard Sullivan RIP.
I hope you are all keeping well, happy, and virus free. If there is any way that I can help, please do let me know. Please also pass on these messages and my best wishes to those who may not receive emails from me.
Father John
