Easter blessings
Dear friends, Wishing you every blessing for Easter. “We proclaim your death, O Lord, and sing of your glorious resurrection. We have been found worthy to share in this mystical banquet. Made glad by the spiritual gifts you offer, we sing with the angels the song of victory. Alleluia!” (a 4th century prayer).
Although we are not able to meet together to share in the mystical banquet, the Holy Spirit of God gathers us together in spirit to celebrate the Resurrection of the Lord, and to await the time (hopefully not long now) when we can meet again ‘in person’ and share in the Lord’s Supper.
Meanwhile Bishop Patrick has some information for us regarding Easter broadcasts by Cardinal Nicholls:
Cardinal Nichols has recorded a special radio programme for the BBC on Easter Sunday. This will be broadcast at 0800 on all 39 BBC local radio stations. It will not be broadcast on BBC Radio 4, which will be broadcasting its usual Sunday Worship Service at that time.
The local radio service is a unique programme and the BBC are promoting it heavily, including in the Daily Telegraph and with a video recorded by the Cardinal.
Additionally, the Cardinal will be giving the following interviews on Easter Sunday:
0710 BBC Radio 4 Sunday Programme
0730 BBC Radio 2
0930 BBC Radio London
1300 BBC Radio 4 The World This Weekend
Additionally, the Daily Telegraph is publishing a reflection by the Cardinal on Good Friday. And the BBC will be covering Pope Francis’ Urbi et Orbi on Easter Sunday on its news bulletins.
With best wishes to you all for a happy Easter, for good health, and for an end to this pandemic,
Father John
